Greetings!
I hope everyone has had a safe and happy summer and managed to stay cool! Your Board of Directors has been busy over the summer meeting, planning, and working to bring you the tools to empower you to be the best dental hygienist you can be.
We have a superb line up of speakers and topics for our monthly networking meetings and Continuing Education opportunities that we hope will bring you variety as well as information. Thank you Janice and Cindy! We are also updating our database with the most current information to keep you informed. If you have any changes to your address, phone, name or email, please notify Dawn Brucks, Contact Chair.
We have already completed one service project with our participation in the Hispanic Wellness Fair. We are making plans for Sealants Across Texas in October and another outreach project for that month. (More info on that later) We hope to be the face and voice of Oral Health Care here in the Metroplex. Plans are underway for our state meeting, September 25-28 in Austin. There are also many obstacles that face our profession that we will be working on this Legislative session. In an effort to be available to support all hygienists in the areas we represent, we are combining efforts with Texas Women’s University, Tarrant County College, Dallas DHS and Collin Co. DHS for resources and information.
Remember, Destiny is not a matter of chance. It is a matter of choice. It is not to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved. William Jennings Bryant
We at GFWDHS want to help you achieve your destiny as a dental hygienist. Being informed is arming yourself to make a choice of that destiny. We encourage your input and involvement.
Looking forward to seeing you on the 18th!

President, GFWDHS
