President TDHA President's Message
I would like to thank all of the Greater Fort Worth members who planned,
created and presented my TDHA President Installation Ceremony held
September 27, 2009 at TDHA Annual Session (AS). All the ladies who
participated looked like models up on the dais. The script was outstanding
and my thanks to the writers. I do not know how they came up with the beautiful bird houses, but thank you!
A very special thanks to Nancy Manion Blinn (former TDHA President & GFW President) who traveled from Connecticut just to be the Mistress of Ceremonies at my Installation!
Please go to TEXASDHA.org to see your new TDHA officers. GFW is well represented!
I have appointed a Task Force to investigate how Texas Hygienists working in alternate settings will
obtain reimbursement. If there are hygienists out there who are working in these alternative settings and
getting compensated for it, please share your expertise with us. You may contact me or Nancy Cline
(nvchome@moment.net).
The success of AS would not have been possible without the hard work of Annual Session Council
(ASC). Cindie Pierce (our own GFW Membership Chair) served as ASC Tri-Chair. Ms. Pierce and
Cindy Crisler (our own C.E. Chair and pillar of GFWDHS) are Co-Chairs of the ASC and Student Affairs
Council for 2010!! Please thank these ladies and your GFW delegation as they represented GFW very
well. The 69th TDHA AS will be in San Marcos, September 2010. Make plans to attend as it is fascinating
to see the business of TDHA carried out. TDHA Winter Board (Jan. 2010) will be in Grapevine. Anyone
can attend. Contact me if you would like more information.
A topic of importance presented at ADHA AS (June 2009) that was discussed in length at TDHA AS was
the synopsis of the Lang Report. Lang Consulting was hired to investigate and recommend how ADHA
needs to adjust financially to keep up with inflation and make up lost revenue due to the economy. The
ADHA BOD reviewed the report and came up with 2 plans of action. Plan 1 ~ Quarterly billing beginning
with the winter dues cycle. Plan 2 ~ ADHA dues will increase by $5.00 in 2011.

Thank you,
Ester Ball, RDH, BS
TDHA President
